Good news for STALKER 2 players: a free update with new story content is coming soon!
The new update, called “Stories Untold,” centers around investigating a strange radio signal. This will lead you to explore 7 new locations and complete 8 new quests, offering several hours of gameplay.
Plus, the update introduces six new characters, a new central area called the Burnt Forest, and a special silenced rifle.
The game’s developer, GSC Game World, says the story will take several hours to finish.
Okay, so I’m the main character and my job is to check out this area near the Malachite on the west side of the map. I’m not going alone, though – I’ve got Banzai with me, who’s really into radios. And honestly, that’s when everything starts to get weird.
The latest story update focuses on the Red Forest Region. Once you’ve explored it, use your instincts and what you’ve learned to solve the mystery of the signal.

Upcoming “Stories Untold” Update for STALKER 2 Releases for Free
In addition to a lengthy new story mission, you’ll receive a silenced rifle called the GP37V2.
The developers highlighted the gun’s highly specialized, tactical design, making it ideal for experienced players who prioritize strategy. However, they also noted that players who aren’t as focused on tactics can still use their preferred, familiar weapon.
If you’ve already thoroughly explored the Zone, you’ll start seeing familiar places populated by other stalkers again.
Throughout the story, you’ll explore various locations like the Army Warehouses, Car Dump, and the Volkhov SAM site, and many others.
Who knows? You might even get to completely uncharted territory. The rest is up to you!
And there’s this cool new area they added in the Burnt Forest! But honestly, getting in isn’t guaranteed. It all depends on the decisions I make in the game – my choices will determine if I even unlock access to it, which is pretty awesome and adds a lot of replayability!
Once you reach the new area, you can expect to find all sorts of people there, including traders, guides, medics, and technicians.
This update includes several improvements to make exploring the Zone more enjoyable, with some changes designed to be helpful and others to add a bit more challenge.
Stalker 2 was recently removed from Xbox Game Pass after being available for a year. If you previously played it through Game Pass, you’ll now need to purchase the game to access the new update.
