A critically acclaimed RPG is now available on new platforms! Role-playing games have become incredibly popular over the last ten years, with titles like Disco Elysium, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, Persona 5, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance gaining huge followings. Now, a game from the creators of the popular Baldur’s Gate 3 has been re-released, making it accessible to even more players.
Larian Studios has now launched Divinity: Original Sin 2 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. Following their announcement of a new Divinity game last week, the studio brought their popular RPG to current-generation consoles. This version mainly focuses on performance, adding a smoother 60 frames per second experience, and isn’t a major overhaul of the game. Good news for existing fans: players who already own Divinity: Original Sin 2 on other platforms can upgrade to this new edition for free.
Okay, so if you’re into RPGs and somehow haven’t played Divinity: Original Sin 2 yet, you seriously need to check it out. It’s the game that Larian Studios really perfected a lot of the stuff they then took to the next level with Baldur’s Gate 3. Plus, it’s critically acclaimed – it has a 93 on Metacritic, which puts it up there with the best RPGs ever made, especially in recent years!
Larian Studios hasn’t announced a release date for the next Divinity game, but they have confirmed it will include some characters and story elements from Divinity: Original Sin 2 and the game before it. So, if you want to be ready when the new game comes out, it’s a good idea to replay Divinity: Original Sin 2 beforehand.
