In a recent Actors on Actors conversation, Leonardo DiCaprio spoke with Jennifer Lawrence, his co-star from the 2021 film Don’t Look Up. Both Academy Award winners and highly successful actors, they discussed their careers. DiCaprio revealed something surprising: despite starring in the blockbuster Titanic, which grossed over $2 billion worldwide, he’s never actually watched the movie. His latest film, One Battle After Another, is also generating Oscar buzz.

Jennifer Lawrence mentioned she wasn’t able to work on Paul Thomas Anderson’s Boogie Nights because filming overlapped with Titanic. She then asked the actor if he’d ever watched Titanic again.

DiCaprio said he hadn’t seen the movie before. When someone encouraged him to watch it, calling it “so good,” he explained that he generally avoids watching his own films.

Jennifer Lawrence raved about his new film, One Battle After Another, calling it “the best movie I’ve ever seen.” The Hunger Games star also told him he was a fantastic actor and that this was the most impressive performance she’d ever witnessed.

The actor shared that he doesn’t consistently review his performances, explaining it varies depending on the film. He specifically mentioned he didn’t watch the playback for his movie, One Battle After Another.

Leonardo DiCaprio was already known for his strong acting before starring in Titanic, but the film truly solidified his status as a top actor, despite not earning him an Oscar nomination at the time. Titanic was a massive box office success, earning $2.2 billion worldwide and winning 11 Academy Awards. It’s frequently considered the best disaster film of all time.
