Rob Reiner’s Daughter Romy Reiner Was First on Scene After Murders

More details have come to light about the murders of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.

According to the LA Times, family friends said Romy Reiner, the daughter of the director of When Harry Met Sally and his wife, was the first person to discover the tragedy at their home in Brentwood, California on December 14th.

According to the New York Times, Romy, who lived close by, went to her parents’ house with her roommate when their massage therapist couldn’t get a response at the door before their scheduled appointment.

According to a witness, the 27-year-old woman discovered Rob’s body and then ran outside, prompting her roommate to call 911. The source says she didn’t see Michele’s body and learned about her death from a paramedic.

TopMob News has reached out to reps for the Reiner family for comment and has not yet heard back.

The night before the deaths, Rob and Michele Reiner—parents of Jake, 34, and Nick, 32—had been at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party. According to two sources familiar with the case, their younger son, who was later arrested in connection with their deaths, had a major argument with his father.

Nick has been charged with the murders of Rob and Michele, and is being held in jail without the possibility of bail. This happened two days after their bodies were found.

Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman explained that the charges could result in a sentence ranging from life in prison to the death penalty.

According to Hochman, the suspect will be charged with two counts of first-degree murder, with the added complication that multiple people were killed. He’s also accused of using a knife as the weapon in the crime.

He explained that if convicted, the maximum punishment could be life in prison with no chance of release, or even the death penalty. However, he stated that no decision about seeking the death penalty has been made yet.

Even though Hochman’s office officially filed charges against Nick, the District Attorney made it clear that simply filing charges doesn’t mean there’s proof of guilt.

He explained that the evidence would be presented in court to prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt. To secure a conviction, the 12 jurors would all have to agree that the evidence met this high standard.
