Pretty Little Liars Has Fans Freaking Out 8 Years Later With Sequel Potential

As a huge fan of TV, I remember the 2010s being a really incredible time for shows aimed at young adults. There were so many great ones, covering everything from intense dramas and gripping mysteries to shows with supernatural elements. And honestly, one series really stood out amongst all the hits.

Based on the popular book series by Sara Shepard, the teen drama Pretty Little Liars first aired on Freeform in 2010 and ran for seven seasons, ending in 2017. While the show had three follow-up series, none were as successful. Now, eight years after the original show ended, fans are excited because the cast seems to be hinting at a possible revival or continuation.

On December 17th, Lucy Hale, known for her role as Aria Montgomery, posted a video with Ian Harding, who played her character’s love interest, Ezra Fitz. The pair simply appeared on camera, shared a coffee, and finished by saying, “It’s good to be back.” They captioned the video, “Hale and Harding take 2.”

Fans of the show are seeing posts from some of its stars! In addition to a recent post by another pair of actors, Ashley Benson (who played Hanna Marin) and Tyler Blackburn (who played Caleb Rivers) both shared photos of themselves together on Instagram on December 5th. Benson posted selfies and a short video, captioning it simply, “Sweater weather.”

Blackburn posted the same images and also shared the 2026 Horoscope, which predicts the year of the horse.

On December 13th, Sasha Pieterse, known for her role as Alison DiLaurentis, posted several photos, one of which was a coffee cup decorated with the show’s name.

While Troian Bellisario and Shay Mitchell, who played Spencer Hastings and Emily Fields, haven’t shared anything about Pretty Little Liars yet, even that small detail has gotten fans very excited and speculating about a possible reunion or new project.

Okay, so I was scrolling through social media and stumbled upon something that has the PLL fandom buzzing. Apparently, Aria, Ezra, Caleb, and Hanna all posted a picture together! One fan perfectly summed up the collective reaction – total confusion! Everyone’s wondering what this unexpected reunion means, and honestly, same here. It’s definitely got people talking.

Pretty Little Liars Had a Big Celebration in 2025

this year, and Hale admitted she is shocked people are still discovering the mystery series.

In June, Lucy Hale posted some behind-the-scenes photos and reminisced about her time playing Aria. She shared that the experience was life-changing and expressed her gratitude to everyone who worked on the show. She also thanked the fans for their years of support, saying she knew people would continue to enjoy the series for a long time to come.

The actors came back together to talk about the reunion and share their thoughts. Bellisario, who played Spencer, said she was thankful her character wasn’t portrayed as the villain. She explained that it wouldn’t have made sense, especially considering Alex’s controversial storyline. She felt it would have been difficult for viewers to accept if Spencer had been revealed as the antagonist after seven seasons of struggling with her own issues.

There’s been no official word about bringing Pretty Little Liars back, but recent photos of the cast have sparked a lot of speculation. The main actors got together with the show’s creator this summer, and that meeting could have included talks about continuing the series.
