Fallout Season 2 and Call of Duty collide in a new Black Ops 7 and Warzone crossover — Season 1’s ‘Reloaded’ update will add content from the TV show

Video games have seen a lot of popular collaborations recently, like Helldivers 2 with Halo and Microsoft Flight Simulator with Stranger Things. Now, two of Xbox’s most popular games, Call of Duty and Fallout, are teaming up for a crossover event.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone will soon feature content inspired by Season 2 of the Fallout TV show. A brief teaser video announcing the crossover was shared on the official Call of Duty X (formerly Twitter) account.

The post’s caption simply says, “Okie dokie — stay focused, stay alive.” While the details of the collaboration haven’t been revealed, the video clearly shows Lucy MacLean, the main character from the TV series, along with The Ghoul and Maximus—a member of the Brotherhood of Steel wearing the recognizable power armor from Fallout.

This strongly suggests that players will be able to use skins to play as these three characters in both Black Ops 7 and Warzone. There will likely be other cosmetic items available as well, such as weapon charms, decals, and emblems.

The highly anticipated crossover event will arrive with the Season 1 Reloaded update for Black Ops 7 and Warzone, expected in early to mid-January. While an exact release date for the update isn’t available yet, developers Treyarch and Raven Software should announce it soon.

The Fallout content will probably be available through a special event pass – these usually cost around $10 – or as a character skin pack, which typically costs about $25. However, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation to know for sure.

Interestingly, this IP address issue is happening at a great moment. The second season of the Fallout TV show has just launched on Amazon Prime Video, with new episodes released every Wednesday. If the ‘Reloaded’ update arrives as planned, it will be around the midpoint of the eight-episode season.

Last year, the first season of the Fallout TV show attracted over 100 million viewers and sparked a huge revival of interest in the Fallout video games. The series is currently more popular than ever, so why not test your Fallout knowledge with our quiz?

It’s easy to see why a collaboration with Call of Duty is a good move. As one of the most successful game franchises ever, Call of Duty has a massive player base, and Microsoft and Xbox likely expect those players will be excited to buy character skins and other cosmetic items.

Call of Duty promised more realistic character outfits in their next game, but later said they wouldn’t be *completely* serious. While a crossover with Fallout seems more fitting than one with shows like American Dad or Beavis and Butt-Head, I’d prefer they went back to the series’ realistic, military focus. However, a game like that might not be as profitable. Interestingly, Battlefield 6 was the top-selling game of 2025, suggesting a return to realism could still be successful.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was the top-selling game in the US for November. However, sales haven’t been as strong as those of last year’s Black Ops 6 or earlier Call of Duty games.

One reason for this is that Black Ops 7, along with all the Fallout games, is included with Xbox Game Pass. You’ll need either Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass to access it. If you prefer to buy it outright, GameStop currently has it for $45.
