Following his comeback in Gavin & Stacey: The Finale, it appears that Larry Lamb, who plays Mick Shipman, may be significantly reducing his involvement in the acting profession.
During an interview with MailOnline, Lamb expressed that he might accept minor stage roles as a means of staying visible. However, he is content with allowing others to tackle larger roles instead.
As you immerse yourself in these characters, they become your favorites for a while, dominating your life. But when I’m in my 70s and play a character like Mick who is adored by millions, it’s important to acknowledge the writers… at this point in my career, Mick feels closest to me.

Indeed, most people last saw Lamb on the much-awaited finale of Gavin & Stacey, which aired during Christmas last year and received numerous praises. Apart from his memorable character Mick, Lamb is also recognized for his malevolent role as Archie Mitchell in EastEnders, and more recently, he acted alongside Robson Green and Jason Watkins in the 5 series titled “The Feud.
In addition to her role in “Lamb,” she has acted in five dramas including “The Inheritance” on a streaming platform, the Paramount Plus series “Curfew,” and previously appeared on shows such as “New Tricks,” “The Bill,” and “Love and Marriage.
Beyond my film performances, I’m widely recognized for my theatrical roles as well. I shared with MailOnline that my creative journey is split almost evenly, devoting half of my time to television work and the remaining half to gracing the stages of the theater.
Currently, it’s clear that Lamb is prioritizing his literary pursuits, having recently published his first novel titled All Wrapped Up. This captivating book revolves around the character of Killian Wilde, an assistant director, who finds himself in a challenging situation while filming on a picturesque Caribbean island. He must deal with a difficult actor, power struggles, and the disappearance of a crew member.
As I spent more time collaborating with movie crews, I found myself thinking, “These unsung heroes are crucial in this field.” Others commented, “They’re never acknowledged and rarely discussed,” but I’ve had the privilege of working alongside them constantly.
