Apple finalizing deal with OpenAI for ChatGPT iPhone integration: Report

As a researcher with a background in artificial intelligence and technology, I’m keeping a close eye on the latest developments at Apple. The news that Apple is reportedly in advanced negotiations with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into the iPhone is an intriguing turn of events. This comes after reports suggesting that Apple has been ramping up its efforts to build out its own AI division, hiring experts from Google and acquiring local AI startups.

According to reliable sources, Apple is allegedly close to finalizing a deal with OpenAI for integrating ChatGPT’s capabilities into the iPhone.

According to a Bloomberg report from May 11, ChatGPT is predicted to be incorporated into Apple’s forthcoming software update, iOS 18. Additionally, Apple is reportedly holding talks with Alphabet Inc., Google’s parent company, concerning the possible inclusion of Google’s Gemini chatbot. However, it seems that Apple’s negotiations with Google are not as far along as those related to ChatGPT.

Amidst rumors, Apple is reportedly increasing its initiatives to develop an in-house artificial intelligence (AI) team.

On April 30, according to CryptoMoon’s report, Apple is said to have been actively hiring AI and machine learning specialists from Google to expand its in-house talent pool.

I’ve discovered that Apple has taken steps beyond just recruiting AI specialists. They have recently acquired two local startups based in Zurich, Switzerland, and established a clandestine lab they refer to as “Vision Lab.”

In my role as an analyst, I’d rephrase that as follows: During Apple’s unveiling of their new M4 chip on the latest iPad, they highlighted Octane – a 3D design software that utilizes the Render Network for improved performance.

After being mentioned, RNDR experienced a significant surge, rising by 11%. Meanwhile, other artificial intelligence tokens also saw gains. Fetch.ai (FET) increased by 12.88%, The Graph grew by 3.75%, and SingularityNET (AGIX) soared up by 16.18%.

Last year, there were whispers that Apple restricted the usage of ChatGPT within the organization because of fears over possible data breaches.
