Jason Kelce Addresses Role in Travis Kelce & Taylor Swift’s Wedding

As a huge fan, I’m so excited for Travis and Taylor! And honestly, if I ever got the chance to share a toast with them, like Jason Kelce said he’s ready to do, I absolutely would. It would be an amazing moment to celebrate their happiness!

The retired Philadelphia Eagles center talked about possibly being involved in his brother’s wedding to the singer known for “Fate of Ophelia,” but he didn’t confirm whether he’d be giving a best man speech.

He said on December 19th, during an appearance on Good Morning America, that it’s too early to say if that will happen or what form it might take. He added that he hasn’t been given any specifics, but he’d be glad to participate in whatever way he can.

The 37-year-old added, “I’m just happy for those two.”

Jason shared that he’s excited to be involved in his brother’s wedding and wants to support him as he gets married.

I’m really hoping Travis Scott asks me to be his best man! He mentioned on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast back in September that he hadn’t decided yet, and he’s got so many close friends. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he chooses me – it would be an honor.

As someone who’s followed Jason Kelce’s journey, it’s clear he understands a wedding is amazing, but it’s just the beginning. Having four daughters with his wife, Kylie, he really gets that building a strong, lasting relationship is about so much more than just one special day – it’s everything that comes after.

He shared that he wants his brother to be happy and live a full life, and he believes finding the right partner and starting a family are key parts of that.

And as far as Jason is concerned, Travis, 36, couldn’t have found a more fitting partner.

He enthusiastically described them as incredibly supportive of each other, despite both having remarkably successful careers. He shared that he knows the man well and has been fortunate enough to get to know Taylor over the past few years, adding that he believes they are a great match.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship started in July 2023 when Swift’s Eras Tour visited Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Being a big Taylor Swift fan, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end wanted to give her a friendship bracelet with his jersey number on it while at her concert. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to because she was busy getting ready for the show.

Travis explained on his podcast, New Heights, that he was a little upset she didn’t talk before or after her concert because she needs to protect her voice for singing all 44 songs. He was hoping to give her one of the friendship bracelets he’d made, but didn’t get the chance.

Following his now-famous story about dropping the ball – which Taylor Swift later called incredibly cool – Travis Kelce decided to take a chance and invite the award-winning singer to see the Chiefs play at Arrowhead Stadium.

He explained on The Pat McAfee Show that he challenged Taylor Swift, saying he’d noticed her amazing performances at Arrowhead Stadium and suggested she come see him perform there too, to see who gets a bigger reaction from the crowd. He added that fans might find out what happens soon.

Travis had grown a mustache, starting during training camp in August, and he had it when he first met Taylor.

He later recalled that his mustache and number 87 jersey were a memorable look during that time, and he was wearing them when he first met Taylor.

According to a source, Travis and Taylor began communicating—texting and talking occasionally—by the beginning of September, TopMob News reported.

“It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”

Taylor accepted Travis’ invitation and went to Arrowhead Stadium to watch him and the Kansas City Chiefs play the Chicago Bears, alongside his mother, Donna Kelce. After the game, Taylor and Travis were photographed showing affection for each other at a nearby bar.

Despite rumors that they met for the first time in person, the singer of “Karma” later explained that they had already spent a good deal of time getting to know each other.

As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.” 

To show how serious things were getting, Taylor brought a group of her close friends—Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, and Antoni Porowski—to see the Chiefs play the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Taylor Swift seems to be getting close to Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Travis Kelce’s best friend and teammate, Patrick Mahomes, both at and away from NFL games. This could be another indication that she and Travis are a couple.

The couple publicly showcased their relationship with a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live on October 14th. They continued their New York outing with the show’s after-party and a romantic dinner at the Waverly Inn.

During the NFL’s bye week, Travis flew to Argentina to see Taylor Swift perform on the South American leg of her Eras Tour. While there, at the November 11th show in Buenos Aires, he connected with Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, and even received a mention from Taylor on stage.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

Okay, so after her incredible show, I spotted Taylor heading straight for Travis backstage. It was such a sweet moment – they shared a really passionate kiss right away! You could just feel the connection between them. It was adorable, honestly.

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games.

She told Time magazine that they’re simply supporting each other and enjoying being together, without worrying about who else is around. This is in contrast to having to go to great lengths to keep a relationship secret.

 

I was so excited to see that Taylor brought her dad to Travis’ game on December 17th! It was really sweet of her to make it a family event and have him there to support Travis with her.

Taylor and Travis celebrated New Year’s Eve together and shared a kiss at midnight on January 1st.

Okay, so I was losing it seeing Taylor with Travis’s family! She was hanging out with Jason Kelce and Kylie Kelce at the Chiefs game against Buffalo, and it was just the cutest thing ever. It feels so good to see them all getting along – it’s like, she’s really becoming part of the family, and I’m living for it!

After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship and earned a place in the 2024 Super Bowl, Taylor joined Travis on the field to celebrate. They kissed and then told each other ‘I love you’ for the first time.

The couple went on two dates in New York City over the weekend before 2025, and they happened to wear matching outfits on both occasions.

The couple spent the NFL off-season together, including a snowy getaway to Montana with sportscaster Erin Andrews.

In July 2025, Travis shared the first photos of him and Taylor on Instagram. One cute picture showed them at dinner, and fans noticed their phone lockscreens featured photos of each other.
