Disney recently cancelled one of its most promising animated series after just one season. This comes at a time when Disney is both reviving older shows like Phineas and Ferb and launching new, original animated series. Unfortunately, despite the variety, these newer shows haven’t yet achieved the level of popularity Disney was hoping for.
I was really into StuGo when it first came out – everyone was sharing those hilarious clips! But things seemed to slow down after the first season, and it started looking like we weren’t going to get a second one. Sadly, Ryan Gillis, the creator, just confirmed my fears in a post online – StuGo isn’t continuing. It’s a bummer, but at least we know for sure now.
StuGo Has Been Cancelled After Just One Season With Disney

We’ve received confirmation that StuGo has been cancelled, which, while disappointing, wasn’t entirely unexpected,” Gillis shared with fans. “We had a lot of fun ideas for a second season – like spider jockeys, whale lasagna, and electric mouth orallariums – but we’re thankful we were able to create the 40 episodes we did. Thank you to everyone who watched and enjoyed the show! Thankfully, all episodes are still available to watch in one place.
If you somehow missed it this year, StuGo is now available to stream on Disney+. Gillis wanted to make sure fans knew, saying it’s been incredibly rewarding to see people react to the characters and their adventures. He encourages anyone who hasn’t seen it to check out the complete season on Disney+ if they enjoy surprising, funny, and unique content created by a team of talented people.
What Is StuGo Anyway?

Even though it’s been cancelled, StuGo is definitely worth checking out – it was a standout show compared to other animated series Disney was producing at the time. Created by Ryan Gillis (known for The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse) for Disney Branded Television, the show was produced by Titmouse and the Disney Channel. Sunil Hall (Gravity Falls) served as a co-executive producer, and Craig Lewis (Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends) was the story editor. StuGo was a delightfully quirky series focusing on a fun-loving group of kids.
StuGo follows a group of middle school students who are lured to a remote island by a scientist for a summer full of exciting adventures. Each episode offered a unique and thrilling experience, making it a fun show to watch. It’s disappointing to hear that there will only be one season, but we hope the creative team will bring us more great projects in the future.
