Unpacking Michael Saylor’s latest Bitcoin forecast of $10M per coin

BTC could hit $10M per coin, according to Michael Saylor.
Power Law supports his forecast, but the model has its assumptions and limitations.

As an experienced financial analyst, I find Michael Saylor’s bold prediction of Bitcoin reaching $10 million per coin intriguing but not without its assumptions and limitations. Power Law, a statistical model used to analyze data that grows exponentially over time, supports his forecast based on historical trends. However, it’s essential to remember that this model has its own set of assumptions and limitations.

The value of Bitcoin (BTC) dropped significantly to around $62,000, marking a 13% decrease from its peak of $71,900 in June. Michael Saylor, the founder and CEO of MicroStrategy, has continued to express his extremely optimistic viewpoint regarding Bitcoin’s future, despite this recent setback.

In a recent interview, Saylor expressed his belief that the value of one Bitcoin could reach ten million dollars, referring to it as “an economic form of immortality.”

“Perfect money represents an unending existence in economics, while imperfect money has a limited and harsh lifespan.”

Saylor highlighted the connection between conventional money and Bitcoin’s less-than-perfect counterpart. He pointed out that during times of crisis, be it personal, corporate, or on a larger scale such as nationally, individuals become more receptive towards Bitcoin as an alternative financial instrument.

Michael Saylor target: Is $10M per BTC feasible?

Bitcoin price projection based on Power Law supported Michael Saylor’s bold projection of $10M per BTC, tentatively by 2040.

As a researcher examining the Power Law trend represented in this graph, I can project future developments based on past growth patterns and historical trends depicted on a logarithmic scale. According to the Power Law model that I’ve observed, Bitbo pointed out.

Starting from the year 2028, the Bitcoin price will consistently remain above $100,000 with no dips below this figure. By the year 2028 at the earliest and by no later than 2037, the Bitcoin price is predicted to surge past the $1,000,000 mark. After this milestone in 2037 or beyond, the Bitcoin price will never revert below $1,000,000.

Although the projection is valuable, it’s essential not to rely on it solely as it fails to account for potential advancements, regulatory adjustments, or other variables influencing Bitcoin’s future.

As a researcher studying the cryptocurrency market, I’ve noticed that Saylor has made such a prediction before. Back in December 2023, they expressed their belief that Bitcoin’s market capitalization could reach between 10% and 20% of the world’s total wealth, which amounts to approximately $900-$1000 trillion.

According to Saylor’s prediction, Bitcoin could potentially reach a price of $10 million per coin if it managed to capture a 20% share of the global assets. At present, Bitcoin’s market capitalization, as reported by CoinMarketCap, is around $1.2 trillion. This equates to less than 1% of the world’s total wealth.
