Peacock subscribers don’t have much time left to watch a popular animated sequel from the 2020s that many consider better than the first movie. While Peacock has been adding lots of new shows and films – including all 15 seasons of Supernatural and Despicable Me 4 – this hit animated film will soon be removed from the streaming service.
The animated movie Sing 2, a sequel to the 2016 hit Sing, is leaving the Peacock streaming service soon. The film follows Buster Moon, a koala, and his talented animal performers as they try to make it big in Redshore City. They face challenges when they try to convince a reclusive rock star to join their show, all while dealing with a tough entertainment boss. While Peacock hasn’t said exactly when Sing 2 will be removed, it’s currently listed as leaving soon, meaning it will likely be gone by the end of the month.
Sing 2 Is Sing 1 on a Grander Scale
Although Sing 2 earned $408 million globally, it didn’t perform as well commercially as the first Sing movie, which made $634 million. However, critics and audiences generally liked Sing 2 more. The original Sing received a 71% score from critics and 73% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, while Sing 2 scored slightly higher with 72% from critics and an impressive 98% audience rating, earning it a ‘Verified Hot’ label.
The sequel captures everything fans enjoyed about the original – a heartwarming story, plenty of charm, and memorable songs – but it’s much bigger and bolder. The stakes are higher as the story moves from a local competition to the grand Crystal Tower Theater in Redshore City, creating more tension and excitement. Expect spectacular musical numbers and a fantastic soundtrack featuring artists like Elton John and The Weeknd. Visually, the movie is stunning, with bright colors and impressive sets that bring the city and performances to life, and the cast is expanded with exciting new faces like Bono, Pharrell Williams, and Tori Kelly.
The animated movie Sing 2 was a hit with audiences of all ages, leading to plans for a third installment. Sing 3 is currently in development, as confirmed by Illumination Entertainment’s Chris Meledandri in April 2023. While details about the story and when it will be released are still under wraps, Meledandri has said the movie will feature returning characters and take place in a brand new setting.
Where to Stream Sing 2 After It Leaves Peacock?
Right now, you can only watch Sing 2 on Peacock. When it leaves Peacock, it might not be available to stream anywhere. It’s not planned to be added to other streaming services this December, but could be available on a different platform in January or later. For now, it’s still streaming on Peacock, and you can also rent or buy it online.
