Eli Roth's Borderlands Gets Final Trailer

As a long-time gamer and avid fan of the Borderlands franchise, I have eagerly anticipated the release of the live-action movie for what feels like an eternity. The latest trailer only fuels my excitement further! The interactions between the cast seem authentic and captivating, and the action is visually stunning. The callbacks to the video game are a nice touch, and the use of familiar elements like Roland’s rabbit plushie bomb adds a delightful layer of nostalgia.

The anticipation for the “Borderlands” live-action movie has been building up for a long time, and now, its release date on August 9th is just around the corner. With only two weeks left, Lionsgate has unveiled a fresh trailer, providing another glimpse into director Eli Roth’s film. Much like the earlier preview, this one emphasizes the chemistry between the actors and the movie’s exhilarating action sequences. Although it maintains a similar tone to the initial trailer, for those who are still hesitant about the video game adaptation, this new trailer offers another opportunity to assess what they can expect from the movie.

Currently, there’s a flourishing era for video game adaptations on TV and in movies. However, the anticipated “Borderlands” film adaptation arguably should have hit the screens a few years earlier. The movie’s production was finished back in 2021, followed by two weeks of additional shooting with Tim Miller, who helmed “Deadpool,” in 2023. Despite this lengthy process, devoted “Borderlands” followers are naturally anxious about the film’s fidelity to its original material. Nonetheless, the trailers have generated positive anticipation.

Based on what we’ve seen, Borderlands appears to draw heavily from the elements that made Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy films popular, particularly the concept of found family. However, it remains to be proven whether this film will achieve the same level of success and engage non-gaming audiences as deeply as gaming enthusiasts have for over a decade with these characters.

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that in the world of Borderlands, I’ll be joining forces with some amazing talents. I’ll be teaming up with Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Jamie Lee Curtis as Patricia Tannis, Kevin Hart as Roland, Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, and Florian Munteanu as Krieg. And getting things humoringly chaotic will be Jack Black, who lends his voice to Claptrap.
