As a longtime fan of Dragon Ball, I’m beyond excited for the upcoming anime project, Dragon Ball Daima! Akira Toriyama’s passing earlier this year left many of us in the fandom feeling a sense of loss, but his legacy lives on through the new series. It’s truly an honor to see Son Goku making an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, and I can hardly wait to see what Toyotaro has in store for us.
In October this year, there are several new anime television series and movies being released. Among them, the anticipated return of the Z-Fighters in “Dragon Ball Daimaoh” is generating a lot of buzz. Sadly, creator Akira Toriyama passed away earlier in 2023, making this project one of his last works. To build excitement for the upcoming anime adaptation by Toei Animation, Son Goku himself will be attending Comic-Con in San Diego. Before he heads to the West Coast, a fresh promotional material has surfaced online to rekindle fans’ passion for the dragon.
I’m thrilled to share that the latest promotional art for the series is brilliantly crafted by none other than Toyotaro himself, who currently helms “Dragon Ball Super” manga. With Akira Toriyama’s departure, the manga went on a break, and Toyotaro has previously mentioned collaborating with Toriyama to shape the future of the Z-Fighters. Unfortunately, there’s no official confirmation yet about when we can expect the manga to resume or if Toyotaro will be at the helm of the “Dragon Ball” story.
Dragon Ball Daima: Goku is Coming To San Diego
In the new anime series, “Dragon Ball Daimaoh,” Goku will be shrunken down into a smaller version of himself, similar to how he appeared in “Dragon Ball GT.” However, we’ve also seen glimpses of Goku in his regular form throughout the show. Previews have shown Goku engaging in a sparring match with Vegeta, but it remains to be seen just how much of the adult Goku will feature in the upcoming episodes.
At this month’s “Toyotarou Drew It!” event, there’s an exclusive illustration of Goku created specifically for San Diego Comic-Con attendees. Don’t miss your chance to check out the Dragon Ball booth where Toyotarou’s masterpiece is on display! If you plan on visiting the venue, capture a memory by taking a photo with the iconic character, Goku.

If you’re interested in discovering more about “Dragon Ball Daima,” A secret plot results in Goku and his companions being shrunken. In response, they embark on an expedition to another realm to rectify the situation. The journey promises thrilling encounters in a strange and enigmatic land. Due to his diminutive stature, Goku resorts to using his Power Pole for combat, an uncommon occurrence.
