New The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Trailer Showcases Several Classic Hyrule Locations

As a seasoned Zelda enthusiast, who has spent countless hours exploring the enchanting realms of Hyrule and beyond, I am absolutely thrilled by the latest revelations about “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom“. The tantalizing trailer has ignited my imagination with its captivating glimpses into familiar locales like Gerudo Desert and Eldin Volcano, as well as the introduction of new mechanics that promise to breathe fresh life into the series.

In the 2019 revamp of “The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening” on the Nintendo Switch, gamers delved into a reimagined 2D Zelda world. Regrettably, since this game was set in Koholint Island, it lacked many familiar elements from the series. However, the upcoming “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom” returns to Hyrule, allowing us to traverse beloved locales such as Gerudo Desert, Eldin Volcano, and Kakariko Village again. In a fresh trailer unveiled today by Nintendo, we got a glimpse of these areas along with their residents, including the Gerudo, Zora, and Deku.

The new trailer for Echoes of Wisdom can be found below.

In addition to showcasing these older locations and races, today’s trailer for Echoes of Wisdom also offers more information about various mechanics in the game, including Zelda’s Echo ability. Once Zelda learns how to create an Echo of a carrot, she’ll be able to summon a horse to ride. Horseback riding seems to work similar to the way it did in Zelda: Four Swords Adventures. Horses will be able to run over weaker enemies, and jump over some obstacles, making it easier to travel around the game’s world. The trailer showed two different colored horses, one brown and one white. At this time, it’s unclear if there will be some kind of customization aspect, or if players will be able to have stables of different horses as in Breath of the Wild. Customization does seem likely, as today’s trailer revealed that players will be able to change Zelda’s appearance in the game.

In today’s trailer, a fresh capability unveiled is called “Bind.” With this power, Zelda can enchantingly adhere to enemies and items, compelling them to mimic her movements. Bind can be employed to shift weighty objects, extract treasures trapped in the earth, and even toss adversaries from steep edges! Conversely, there’s “Reverse Bond,” which works in reverse, enabling Zelda to link with objects and travel along their course. In the trailer, we witness an instance of this as Zelda connects to a moving platform, using its route to traverse a chasm.

If you’re a Zelda fan who’s undecided about Echoes of Wisdom, today’s trailer should give you a clearer understanding of what the game offers! Luckily, you won’t have to wait long to play it yourself, as it’s coming out on Nintendo Switch on September 26th.
