We were regrettably denied entry while we were in France for the 2024 Olympic Games. However, the establishment has since addressed this unfortunate incident by explaining their reasoning behind it.
On behalf of us here at [Hotel Name], I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience experienced tonight. Regrettably, our rooftop bar was already fully booked. The empty tables you noticed were actually part of our gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc, which happened to be fully reserved as well. We hope to make it right and provide a memorable experience for you on your next visit.
They added, “We have always been honored to welcome you and will always be to welcome you again.”
As a conscientious lifestyle guide, allow me to share an incident that recently unfolded. Following my assertion about an eatery on X, where I expressed dismay over an alleged denial of service for my family and me on their rooftop, I’ve been reached out to with an apology.
“Yikes @peninsulaparis I’ve been denied access to rooftop to eat in a empty restaurant of nicer places but never with my kids,” she wrote. “Always a first. #Olympic2024.”
The Peninsula Paris’ tweet about Serena’s experience echoes a similar statement the restaurant previously shared with TopMob News, saying the company has “the utmost admiration and respect” for the Olympian.
The statement expressed sincere regrets again for her understanding of tonight’s circumstances, and it was emphasized that she and her family have always been, and will continue to be, warmly invited and welcomed at our place.
But Serena isn’t letting the restaurant faux pas put a damper on her time in the City of Love, especially as she got to take part in the Opening Ceremony on the Seine River alongside fellow Olympians Rafael Nadal, Carl Lewis and Nadia Comaneci.
The tennis legend—who has won four Olympic gold medals—has been documenting her time in French capital on Instagram, while also making time to cheer on her fellow athletes.
