Pokemon Go Community Day Schedule Revealed for Next Season

As an old-school Pokémon fan who has been playing since the Gameboy days and now a dedicated “Pokémon Go” player for years, I must say that the upcoming season’s schedule has left me both excited and a bit puzzled. While it’s fantastic to know the dates of Community Day events, I can’t help but feel a bit impatient with such a long wait between them. However, the prospect of more Galar-region Pokémon is truly enticing.

The upcoming season of Pokemon Go is drawing near, and we’re still unsure about what will succeed Shared Skies. However, Niantic has recently unveiled a timetable detailing all Community Day events for the approaching season, which kicks off on September 3rd. This schedule only includes three dates, with events scheduled for September, October, and November. Regrettably, this indicates that another Community Day Classic won’t occur until much later after this month’s Beldum event. Players can look forward to Community Day events on these specific dates:

  • Saturday, September 14, 2024
  • Saturday, October 5, 2024
  • Sunday, November 10, 2024

Besides the three Community Days announced, Niantic has unveiled four extra dates for potential consideration during the upcoming season. Similar to the Community Day schedule, particulars are yet to be disclosed, but here’s what we know so far: there will be two Raid Days and two Research Days on these forthcoming dates:

  • Sunday, September 8, 2024 (Raid Day)
  • Sunday, September 22, 2024 (Research Day)
  • Saturday, October 12, 2024 (Raid Day)
  • Saturday, October 19, 2024 (Research Day)

It’s expected that we won’t get all the details about the upcoming season of Pokemon Go for a few more weeks at least. But there are hints suggesting that this new season might focus on content from Pokemon Sword and Shield. Interestingly, the region of Galar has been underrepresented in Pokemon Go up until now, with only a limited number of Pokemon added over the past few years. However, it seems that could be about to change. Last month, artwork for Pokemon Go’s eighth anniversary subtly hinted at the addition of popular Galar Pokemon like Scorbunny, Sobble, Grookey, and Morpeko, as well as the Dynamax/Gigantamax feature from that generation.

Historically, the artwork for Pokemon Go’s anniversary doesn’t always mean new content is imminent, but recent developments give us reason to believe more Galar-themed content could be coming up. For instance, after the latest update, symbols for Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon are now visible in the game. Considering this, it seems quite possible that we’ll have a Galar-themed season next month!
