One Piece Voice Actor Teases Ace's Role in Netflix's Hit Adaptation

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can attest to the thrill that One Piece has brought into our gaming and anime world. The latest updates about Ace’s comeback have sent the fan community into a frenzy!

Currently, One Piece is thriving more than ever, and its enthusiasts are reaping the benefits of this success. The anime version has reached unprecedented levels of animation quality, while the manga’s epic final storyline keeps fans on their toes. With new games in development and a live-action adaptation underway, One Piece seems to be busier than it’s ever been. Additionally, fans have recently learned from actor Toshio Furukawa that Portgas D. Ace is gearing up for an exciting return.

The news originates from Otakuthon, where Furukawa was invited as a special guest at the convention. During his visit, attendees had the opportunity to listen to the acclaimed One Piece voice actor discuss his extensive career in the industry. From voicing Piccolo (Dragon Ball) to Shin (First of the North Star), Furukawa’s impressive resume includes portraying Ace in One Piece. In a surprising revelation, Furukawa hinted that the pirate character may make an appearance in the upcoming season on Netflix’s One Piece.

At Otakuthon, I shared with fellow gamers and fans my heartfelt wish to revisit the role of Ace in the future. To be more specific, I’d jump at the chance to catch up on the pirate in the One Piece anime remake by Wit Studio. But for now, you can count on me providing the voice acting for Ace in season two of Netflix’s One Piece. As for what lies ahead with Ace, it’s still a mystery, but I adore the character thanks to his bold persona.

Of course, fans of One Piece are buzzing about Furukawa’s recent admission. As of yet, there’s no confirmation on whether Ace will show up in Netflix’s adaptation of One Piece. However, things have just taken an interesting turn. While it could be a misunderstanding, Furukawa is an experienced voice actor. We sure hope the revelation is accurate, as Netflix’s One Piece has high hopes to surpass itself with season two.

1. It’s confirmed that production for the live-action version of One Piece has begun, and the principal cast is currently in Cape Town, South Africa. For the upcoming season on Netflix, a variety of arcs such as Loguetown, Little Garden, Drum Island, and others will be adapted. If the pace is well-managed, it’s possible that the Arabasta arc could be included in season two. This would mean Ace’s introduction, since Luffy reconnects with his elder brother before their confrontation with Crocodile escalates significantly. In this scenario, Furukawa may return to voice the live-action series if needed.

If you have not checked out Netflix’s One Piece, the live-action adaptation is now streaming its first season. You can also find the hit anime streaming everywhere from Netflix to Hulu and Crunchyroll. So for more info, you can read the official synopsis of One Piece below:
