Marvel’s Blade Director Still Attached to Project

Marvel's Blade Director Still Attached to Project

As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast with decades worth of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the news about Blade’s director not leaving the project is music to my ears. After years of anticipation and numerous false starts, it seems like we’re finally moving forward with one of Marvel Studios’ most iconic characters.

It appears that Yann Demange, who is in charge of directing “Blade,” will not be stepping away from the project, according to recent reports from Deadline and other sources. Earlier speculations had suggested that Demange might leave the Marvel Studios’ vampire movie, but now it seems he has decided to stay on board.

Ever since the murmurs about Blade have been circulating online, I can’t help but feel a tinge of excitement as a gamer. Recently, when asked about the ongoing production by EW, the charismatic Wesley Snipes – who’s known for his roles as Deadpool and Wolverine – shared some insights on the buzz surrounding Marvel Studios’ Blade. Just like before, he emphasized that creating a Blade movie isn’t an easy task and deserves more credit than it often gets. However, he also made it clear that he doesn’t want to point fingers at Marvel’s Marshall Ali for any potential development hiccups we might be hearing about.

In simpler terms, Snipes expressed to the media that he cheered him (the actor) on, wishing him all well-wishes and backing. He even hinted at some difficulties the project might be encountering, suggesting they’re not the actor’s fault. Instead, there are many factors at play in bringing the Blade character to life, requiring special skills and abilities. Snipes wished him luck and reiterated his support for the actor.

Well, One Blade Has Already Shown Up

The popularity of Blade continues unabated at cinemas. It came as quite a shock to many moviegoers when they spotted Wesley Snipes appearing in Deadpool and Wolverine. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Snipes discussed the lengthy journey he took to reprise this iconic role.

Over time, we’ve had some deep discussions and others less so, but overall they were intriguing, Snipes said. I felt it was time for me to part ways with those discussions, which is fine. I participated in three of them, and I believe they turned out quite well. Nothing to complain about… So, we’ll focus on other matters and even greater ones as well.

Snipes expressed that he never imagined his Marvel comeback would happen. He felt it was unlikely that they could pull it off due to doubts about Marvel’s and Disney’s interest, especially given Mahershala Ali was already cast for the next version of the role. However, when an unexpected call came from Ryan Reynolds after 20 years, he decided to answer and explore the idea. They approved the concept, giving it a green light, and once Snipes agreed, they were ready to move forward. And here we are.

Is it your belief that the movie “Blade” will continue production and release sometime between 2025 and 2026? Keep up with all the latest pop culture chatter by following us at @ComicBook on social media!
