Jenna Ortega Met Michael Keaton for the First Time in Full Beetlejuice Makeup

As a child of the ’80s and ’90s, I can hardly contain my excitement for the return of Tim Burton’s iconic masterpiece, Beetlejuice Bettlejuice! Growing up, the original film was a staple in our household VHS collection, and Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz was the epitome of gothic cool. Now, with Jenna Ortega stepping into those shoes, I’m eager to see her bring a fresh take to this beloved character.

Within a few weeks, Warner Bros. plans to unveil the much-awaited sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 movie “Beetlejuice,” featuring Winona Ryder as the timeless Lydia Deetz and Michael Keaton reprising his role as Beetlejuice. Known as “The Ghost with the Most,” this film is expected to make a big splash during its opening weekend, hitting theaters on September 6th and potentially setting records for one of the largest September releases. As Halloween approaches, fans new and old will be introduced to the franchise through an abundance of merchandise that Warner Bros. has prepared, reflecting their excitement for this pop culture phenomenon.

Ortega shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, “He suddenly appeared behind me while I was having a trial run with hair and makeup. He tapped my shoulder, and when I turned around, it was definitely a jump scare. He introduced himself as ‘Michael,’ but he had mold flaking from his face. I tried to act casual, but then it got weird when I encountered him again outside of hair and makeup because I’d forgotten that we had already met.”

In the revised version, the movie will introduce Jenna Ortega (known for her role in Netflix’s Wednesday) as Lydia’s rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid. The Deetz family has returned to Winter River, but trouble arises when Astrid begins investigating matters that should be left alone. The movie was earlier announced to revolve around the death of Charles Deetz, played by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Jones.

As I delve into this tale, my gaming spirit is stirred as I find myself in Lydia’s shoes. Ever since that pesky Beetlejuice business, life has been a rollercoaster. Then, my rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, stumbles upon an enigmatic town model in the attic. Little did we know, this innocuous discovery would accidentally crack open a gateway to the Afterlife! The peaceful coexistence between our world and the supernatural is now on thin ice, and it’s just a matter of time before someone carelessly utters Beetlejuice’s name three times. When they do, watch out – that mischievous demon will be back with a vengeance to wreak havoc in his own twisted way!

Alongside Ortega, Ryder, and Keaton, Catherine O’Hara is returning to portray Charles’ wife Delia Deetz. Monica Bellucci takes on the role of Beetlejuice’s spouse, while Willem Dafoe assumes the part of ghost detective Wolf Jackson. Danny Devito is set to make an appearance, hinting at a possible cameo role.

Keep an eye on ComicBook for the latest news and developments about the upcoming “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” movie, set to hit theaters on September 6th.
