Longlegs Clip Questions the Killer's Motives (Exclusive)

As a die-hard fan of suspenseful thrillers and chilling horror films, I can confidently say that the anticipation for Osgood Perkins’ “Longlegs” has been nothing short of electrifying. From the enigmatic teasers to the cryptic clues hidden in local newspapers, NEON’s campaign has kept us on the edge of our seats, leaving us eagerly waiting for more.

Before the premiere of Osgood Perkins’ movie “Longlegs,” promotional materials didn’t provide much detail about the extent of the main character’s terror or what triggered his sinister actions. Once the film was released in theaters, viewers and characters within the film found themselves equally puzzled by him. In celebration of the film being available on Digital platforms today, we have an exclusive clip featuring Maika Monroe as Lee Harker and Blair Underwood as Agent Carter discussing how Nicolas Cage’s character has managed to evade law enforcement for such a long time. You can watch the clip above and purchase or rent “Longlegs” on Digital platforms today, with its 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD releases scheduled for September 24th.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that the critically acclaimed film studio NEON has just announced some fantastic news! Starting August 23rd, you’ll be able to bring home their biggest box office hit, “Longlegs,” for digital purchase or rental. If you prefer physical copies, mark your calendars for September 24th when it becomes available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Bonus materials like behind-the-scenes interviews with the cast and crew, as well as a feature-length commentary from writer/director Osgood Perkins, will be included in these versions!

“Known as the ‘most terrifying movie of the year,’ Longlegs was penned and helmed by Perkins and features Maika Monroe, Blair Underwood, Alicia Witt, and Nicolas Cage in its cast. So far, Longlegs has made a remarkable $71 million at the U.S. box office and over $100 million worldwide. Dave Caplan was responsible for producing and funding Longlegs through his C2 Motion Picture Group. Alongside Cage, who also stars in the film, producers include Nicolas Cage himself along with Saturn Films, Dan Kagan, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Chris Ferguson.”

As a marketing enthusiast with years of industry experience under my belt, I must say that NEON’s summer campaign was nothing short of extraordinary. Having worked on various campaigns myself, I can appreciate the level of creativity, planning, and execution required to generate such widespread excitement and intrigue.

In terms of horror films, when a much-anticipated movie is made available on home video, viewers often expect unrated, extended, or director’s versions. However, it has already been confirmed that no alternate version of the film “Longlegs” will be distributed. The editors had previously discussed the difficulty of showcasing just enough of Nicolas Cage’s performance to leave an impact on audiences, without overwhelming them at the same time.

Graham Fortin affirmed to ComicBook that there is substantial content from both the prison scene and the interrogation room scene. He recollected a moment where Nicolas Cage sang “Crimson and Clover” repeatedly, which was initially included in the film but eventually got cut. Additionally, he mentioned some material filmed at his house that didn’t make it to the final edit.

Greg Ng added, “They were quite effective in their approach, and while some scenes might have been shortened, there wasn’t an abundance of unused footage. There was definitely extra content, and given it was Nick Cage, everything was valuable. It wasn’t a case of us not wanting to use it; rather, we had so much material that we needed to provide just the right amount for the audience. You can’t simply serve everyone a Nick Cage milkshake without any moderation.”

Today, you have the option to either purchase or lease “Longlegs” digitally right now. On September 24th, you’ll be able to obtain it in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD formats.
