Sonic the Hedgehog 3 – TRAILER

As a child of the ’90s, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia when the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 trailer dropped into my inbox! The first two films have been blockbuster hits, and who would’ve thought we’d be here?

The Sonic the Hedgehog 3 trailer has dropped into our mailbox, which is something I don’t think anyone expected! But with the massive box office success of the first two movies, earning a combined total of $724 million, it’s no surprise that we’re talking about this.

As a passionate cinephile, I found myself eagerly anticipating the production of the third Sonic film in 2023, particularly since filming was happening right here in the UK, specifically in Farnham, Surrey. However, the unfortunate SAG and WGA strike at year’s end disrupted the flow as no actors were available to participate. Consequently, stand-ins for Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles became our temporary on-set companions, serving as reference points.

The creators of the previous movies drew inspiration from playing “Sonic Adventure 2” and “Shadow The Hedgehog” individually, as well as storylines from the “Sonic the Hedgehog” (1993-1994) animated series that aired in the morning. After the second movie was released, Jim Carrey hinted at retiring from acting, but producers said they wouldn’t replace him as Dr. Robotnik if he did, instead hoping he would return to the role if the script suited him. In 2024, it was confirmed that Carrey would reprise his role for this film, making it the first time he’s played the same character in more than two films.
