Kayla Braxton Gives Update on Wrestling Future After WWE Departure

As a long-time fan who has seen Kayla Braxton grow from a ring announcer to a co-host of The Bump, it’s bittersweet to see her depart WWE. However, I completely understand her desire to spread her wings and explore other opportunities, especially acting. After all, we’ve seen many wrestlers transition into successful acting careers, so why not Kayla?

In June, Kayla Braxton, WWE’s backstage correspondent and co-host of The Bump, shared that she was leaving WWE. This news caught fans by surprise as she had been with the company since 2016. Initially, she started as a host and ring announcer on NXT, gradually climbing up the ranks working behind the scenes at various pay-per-views. Later, she transitioned to the SmackDown brand.

When speculation arose that her exit might signal a move to AEW, Becker swiftly debunked the rumors. She clarified that if she intended to stay involved in wrestling, she wouldn’t be leaving WWE. Since then, she has branched out to explore other ventures, one of which is acting. She completed her first movie in July.

Kayla Becker Reveals Her Wrestling Future After Departing WWE

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet on “Insight”, Becker discussed her departure from WWE and the possibility of returning in some way in the future. She noted, “I believe I might [return to wrestling], though it’s not something I’m doing right now. It seems that fans often think, ‘She left WWE, so she must be joining AEW or OnlyFans.’ They don’t consider other possibilities.”

“To be honest, I’m not involved in either of those things currently. Wrestling will forever hold a special place in my heart and be part of my family. However, I didn’t want to limit myself to being just a host and broadcaster, exploring new opportunities instead. It’s possible I might return for a fun guest appearance someday, but for now, I believe my time has passed.”

In the interview, she expressed satisfaction with her decision, stating that it was not only the right move but also the opportune moment for her to depart. She felt that she had achieved all she could in her current position and reached a point where she was merely treading water, wasting both her own time and that of others. She believes someone else could now take up her role, while she embarks on the next phase of her life. In essence, she is content with this transition.
