As a seasoned gamer with years of Pokemon Go under my belt, I must say that the latest update has me quite excited! The introduction of Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble as starters from the Galar region, along with the Max Out theme and the upcoming Dynamax feature, promises a fresh and challenging experience.
The fresh season of “Pokemon Go” has commenced this week, featuring the introduction of Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble as the starter Pokemons from the Galar region. This season is themed “Max Out”, with focus on Dynamax, a feature debuted in “Pokemon Sword and Shield”. Although not yet available, Niantic has unveiled details about what we can anticipate during the Go Big event starting on Tuesday, September 10th. The event will bring about the appearance of Power Spots on the map, these locations being where players can encounter Dynamax Pokemons
A fresh, engaging video demonstrating the Dynamax feature in Pokemon Go can be found below. The video showcases a new piece of music composed by Junichi Masuda, which has been specifically created for the game. Players will have an opportunity to appreciate it when they engage in Max Battles
Dynamax Battles will require a new in-game item called Max Particles. Players can accumulate Max Particles in several different ways, including finding them in Power Spots, or by completing Special Research. Once enough Max Particles have been obtained, players will be able to enter Power Spots and take on the Dynamax Pokemon inside. Up to four players can compete in Max Battles at once, and they can only be taken on locally, rather than remotely. Unlike traditional battles in Pokemon Go, Max Battles add a turn-based mechanic, closer to the main series games. Basically, these are going to be a bit more complex than just tapping your phone screen!
From the start, a limited number of Pokemon will be available capable of using Dynamax. These Pokemon will include Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Skwovet, and Wooloo, as well as all their evolutions (which explains Dynamax Wartortle’s appearance in the game’s 8th anniversary art). Unfortunately, existing versions of these Pokemon will not be able to use Dynamax. That’s a change from how things were handled in Sword and Shield, and will likely disappoint some players!
Currently, Niantic hasn’t disclosed any intentions of incorporating Gigantamax forms within the game. However, it’s quite possible that these forms may be integrated with Pokemon Go in the future. The developers might be planning a gradual introduction to this new feature, allowing players to get accustomed to it smoothly
