Everyone knows the most famous horror movies, like The Exorcist and Halloween. But for every well-known classic, there are many other great horror films that haven’t gotten the attention they deserve. Sometimes, these lesser-known movies are even more daring or unusual than the popular ones.

Godzilla Announces New Universe, “Godzilla World”

Toho, the company behind Godzilla, is planning its own shared universe of monster movies, similar to Legendary’s MonsterVerse. In a recent interview with News Picks in Japan, Chief Godzilla Officer Keiji Ota explained that this new initiative, called “Godzilla World,” will allow Toho to develop spin-offs based on original ideas, alongside films like those directed by Hideaki Anno and Takashi Yamazaki. While only Godzilla Minus One is currently confirmed, Toho has plenty of existing monsters and stories to build upon, particularly leveraging the universe established in Takashi Yamazaki’s recent film.

There’s an ongoing investigation into Kelp Corp, but people who report wrongdoing are turning up dead, and Batman is determined to find out what’s happening. While all this is going on, the three heroes stumble upon a relative of a deceased friend and hero named Prion. The story in Detective Comics then focuses on uncovering Prion’s past and the threats it poses to them.
