EastEnders airs big threat for Sharon Watts in early BBC iPlayer release

As a longtime EastEnders fan with over three decades of watching these Walford residents’ lives unfold, I must say this latest turn of events involving Sharon Watts has me absolutely hooked! The plot twists and turns are reminiscent of a rollercoaster ride, leaving us on the edge of our seats.

Attention: The following information reveals plot points from the EastEnders episode that aired on BBC iPlayer on the 10th of September and will also be broadcast on BBC One tonight. Proceed with caution if you wish to avoid spoilers.

In the most recent episode of EastEnders, Sharon Watts (played by Letitia Dean) found herself under the control of her ex-stepmother, Chrissie Watts (portrayed by Tracy-Ann Oberman).

For a week, Sharon served time in jail for disrespecting the court. During this time, she met Chrissie, and they had a deep conversation. However, it seemed that Chrissie was feigning support towards Sharon, as she covertly instructed another inmate to give Sharon a tough lesson instead.

As Angel started harassing Sharon, Chrissie publicly cautioned her, whispering that now wasn’t the right moment or setting for executing their scheme.

In a deceitful manner, Chrissie gave Sharon the illusion of backing her, causing Sharon to retreat to the laundry room to avoid attention. However, when left unaccompanied, she was trapped by intimidating inmates who brandished a weapon while Sharon begged for her safety.

When Angel referred to Sharon as “Princess”, it left Sharon puzzled about where they might have learned this nickname for her, without realizing that Chrissie was the one who instigated their playful banter.

A guard interrupted to tell Sharon that her solicitor had arrived, while Angel questioned why Chrissie would jeopardise her impending parole hearing to get even with a peroxide blonde.

Sharon quickly realized Chrissie’s strategy, and angrily challenged her, calling her a “cunning, deceitful woman”.

Later on, Chrissie walked up to the guard and tactfully informed on Sharon’s roommate, Dor, for concealing illegal substances. This action prompted a thorough search of their shared quarters.

After being released, a disturbance erupted, giving Chrissie the opportunity to seize Sharon and confine her in another cell, effectively making her a captive, if you will.

Chrissie reminded everyone of her long memory, harboring grudges,” she said, brandishing a weapon, “She now declared that Sharon would have to answer for past actions.” The question remains, will Sharon survive this encounter?

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
