Disney is creating a live-action movie that reimagines the story of Cinderella, but this time, the focus isn’t on the princess. Akiva Schaffer, who directed Disney’s Chip n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers, is directing. The script was originally written by Michael Montemayor (Tangled) and is currently being revised by Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, known for their work on the upcoming The Naked Gun reboot.
As I was going through this list, movies like Men in Black, Jurassic Park, The Matrix, Alien, and Back to the Future immediately sprang to mind, and I’m so glad the creators felt the same way! They’ve already recognized these as sci-fi classics. It was a tough call leaving out the original Star Wars trilogy, though. While the first film was groundbreaking, most fans actually consider The Empire Strikes Back the strongest. And Toy Story was a close call, too – Toy Story 3 really hit an emotional high point, even surpassing the original! But ultimately, this list focuses on those first entries in a series that really captured everyone’s hearts and imaginations, or both.
The Switch 2 also really needs strong exclusive games from Nintendo itself, and we know those often take time to develop – just ask Animal Crossing fans! But while we wait, it’s great to think about the amazing games made by other developers. If only a few could really make the Switch 2 a must-have console, I’d suggest these, especially since there’s currently no way to play Baldur’s Gate 3 on Nintendo systems.
Dark Outlaw Games was a PlayStation studio that didn’t get much public attention before it closed down.
