CDPR and Netflix Are Working on Another Cyberpunk Animated Show

As a seasoned gamer with years of exploring the vast cybernetic landscapes of Night City under my belt, the news of another animated series set in the Cyberpunk universe has me overloaded with excitement. I’ve been a fanatic of the genre since Neuromancer graced our screens back in the day, and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was nothing short of a masterpiece that managed to capture the essence of the cyberpunk aesthetic perfectly.

Individuals who have watched the 2022 animated miniseries “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” often passionately assert that it surpasses your initial expectations, and while a sequel may not be imminent, CD Projekt RED has hinted on several occasions that other shows in a similar vein could emerge in the future.

Now, it’s officially confirmed: Netflix and CD Projekt RED are joining forces to create another animated series set within the world of Cyberpunk. A short preview doesn’t reveal much more than a revisit to Night City, with additional information about the project set to be disclosed “soon”.

It’s not clear if this latest animated series is being developed by Studio Trigger, known for producing “Edgerunners”, but last year, there were hints that they might be working on additional projects with the same team.

In October of last year, it was revealed that CD Projekt RED teamed up with the production company Anonymous Content to develop a live-action Cyberpunk project. You can find out more about this collaboration by following this link.

In the upcoming year, the character Lucy from the series “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” will join Arc System Works’ “Guilty Gear Strive” as a downloadable guest character.
