Now that My Hero Academia has finished, we’ve seen every Quirk the main story focused on. While the creator, Kohei Horikoshi, is happy with how things turned out, a few Quirks with a lot of promise didn’t get enough attention. Here are five that feel particularly underdeveloped, even though they had interesting possibilities.
The Straw Hat Pirates are dedicated to both achieving their personal goals and helping Luffy realize his dream of becoming the Pirate King. Through many hardships, their steadfast belief in Luffy keeps them motivated, pushing them to improve and support him however possible. Because Luffy has rescued each of them in the past, their loyalty and trust are incredibly strong. Their frequent declarations of faith in Luffy’s future are some of the most memorable and powerful moments in the series.
At the start of the 2000s, creating a musical for grown-ups, with a bit of an edge, and hoping for broad appeal felt like a big risk. Any successful show was considered a lucky outlier, not a sign of things to come. While Moulin Rouge! was highly regarded, it couldn’t really change the landscape. Then a particular film proved the issue wasn’t musicals themselves, but how they were being made. It was a complete shift in approach for a genre that wasn’t taken seriously, and it ultimately proved incredibly successful.
As a huge film buff, I always find it fascinating when movies get a second look. This particular biblical epic, which came out just before another one of his films, unfortunately didn’t do as well at the time. It actually got some pretty harsh criticism, and was even pulled from some cinemas because people felt it wasn’t historically accurate. But, I’m excited to hear that it’s getting another chance! It’s headed to Starz on January 1st, 2026, and I’m definitely planning to check it out with fresh eyes.

Fans have spotted a costume error involving Holly Wheeler. In a scene where she escapes Vecna’s grasp, she’s wearing Under Armour clothing. However, the Under Armour company wasn’t established until 1996, and Stranger Things Season 5 is set in 1987. This means the shirt she’s wearing wouldn’t have existed yet, and it’s a bit of a blunder considering her more pressing situation of returning home to Hawkins.
