Bridget Bahl is sharing a difficult truth.

The influencer was diagnosed with breast cancer in the midst of preparing for her sixth IVF retrieval with husband Michael Chiodo

In a heartfelt Instagram video posted on September 22nd, the 41-year-old could barely contain her emotions as she shared, “Deeply yearning for a child is all we truly desire.

As Bridget, who got married to Michael in August 2023, put it, she initially assumed that the lump she discovered in her breast was just a cyst. However, after undergoing imaging, a doctor shared some troubling information with her. “She directly addressed me,” Bridget remembered, “and said, ‘Bridget, I have been practicing for quite some time, and I’m not pleased with what I see.’

Following an examination of Bridget’s MRI scans, the medical professionals concluded that she indeed has breast cancer which appears to have affected a nearby lymph node.

With teary eyes, Bridget disclosed her diagnosis, saying, “I’m confident I will be alright. However, I can’t deny that the path before me is terrifying, a path I don’t wish to tread. But with God’s grace, I believe I can face it.

In simpler terms, the Instagram influencer described her recent period as extremely challenging, and she disclosed her upcoming treatment plan which includes chemotherapy, surgery, and potentially radiation therapy.

She mentioned that the positive aspect is its sensitivity to specific treatment methods. She strongly advised her followers to perform regular self-exams and promptly seek help if any concerns arise.

Regarding their attempts to conceive, Bridget mentioned that she and Michael intend to undergo another embryo transfer, hoping it will give them another chance to naturally grow their family with a biologically-related child.

She expressed her heartfelt desire, “I’d be overjoyed if I could have another embryo. It would truly mean a lot to me.” (Emotion visible)

Reflecting on her concerns for the upcoming months, Bridget penned, “I’m not particularly excited about the next few months, but I understand they will be a part of my life story rather than the entire tale. Although it’s difficult to envision it at the moment, I have faith that this hardship will eventually blossom into something magnificent, guided by God.

She mentioned that by sharing her diagnosis, she wishes to motivate other women who look up to her to undergo regular check-ups.
