Halle Berry Says They Have Prequels and Sequels Figured Out for Never Let Go

As a lifelong fan of Halle Berry’s incredible acting prowess, I couldn’t be more thrilled to hear about the potential sequels and prequels for “Never Let Go.” Berry has always been able to breathe life into even the most ordinary roles, but her performance in this film is nothing short of extraordinary. It’s a testament to her skill as an actress that she would rather revisit her role in “Never Let Go” than some of her more iconic ones, and I can’t wait to see what she does next.

Halle Berry shares that there’s potential for a prequel and sequels to the film “Never Let Go“, assuming its performance is strong enough to progress the series. In an interview with ComicBook prior to the movie’s debut, Berry expresses her preference for reprising her character from “Never Let Go” over some of her earlier roles, as she believes those roles might have reached their end. She openly hopes that “Never Let Go” will perform well enough to warrant a sequel, but advises the young actors who worked alongside her not to get ahead of themselves until it becomes a reality.

The film originates from director Alexandre Aja, who brought us Crawl, and features Berry joined by Percy Daggs IV and Anthony B. Jenkins (pictured). You might recognize Daggs IV as he appeared on Veronica Mars, a role his father, Percy Daggs III, is also known for. Both young actors are eager about the prospect of a sequel, humorously suggesting that they should make one regardless of the movie’s performance at the box office.

“We have stories figured out – we have a prequel and sequels figured out,” Berry told ComicBook.

The movie set to release this Friday seems to conclude in a manner that leaves room for interpretation, suggesting a straightforward path for a sequel. Stay tuned to ComicBook this weekend to find out what viewers and the box office have to say regarding potential sequel developments.

As a game enthusiast, I can’t wait for Aja’s upcoming project – a follow-up to Crawl. Already, I’ve been scouting out locations for this sequel. Plus, it seems that the character from John Wick’s universe, played by Berry, will reappear in some of the future installments and spin-offs.

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:

Under the direction of visionary filmmaker Alexandre Aja (known for “The Hills Have Eyes” and “Crawl”), along with the imaginative teams behind “Stranger Things” and “Arrival”, comes the psychological thriller/horror film “Never Let Go”. In this story, as an Evil envelops the world outside their front doorstep, a mother, portrayed by Academy Award winner Halle Berry (“Monster’s Ball”), and her twin sons find safety only within their house and the strong bond of their family. To ensure their survival, they must remain connected at all times, even using ropes to tether themselves together. However, when one of the boys questions the existence of this evil force, their united front begins to crumble, leading to a harrowing battle for life.

Never Let Go hits theaters on September 27th.
