PS5 30th Anniversary Pre-Order Room Opens on PlayStation Direct, Pricing Revealed

As a seasoned gamer with decades under my belt, I must admit, the excitement is palpable! The PS5 Pro pre-orders going live today and the 30th Anniversary Collection have sent shivers of anticipation down my gaming spine. But boy, those prices sure do put a dent in my wallet!

Today, pre-orders for both the standard PS5 Pro and the PS5 30th Anniversary Edition start on PlayStation Direct at 10 a.m. EST. In anticipation, the waiting room at PlayStation Direct has been opened, allowing eager fans to get in line early before the new hardware becomes available.

Starting from today, only PlayStation Direct offers these products for sale. However, as of October 10th, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Target, GameStop, and other U.S. retailers will start accepting pre-orders. Until then, PlayStation Direct remains the sole option to purchase these items in the United States.

Initially, we were aware that the standard PS5 Pro would retail for $700 during pre-orders. However, PlayStation kept the cost of the PS5 30th Anniversary Collection under wraps. Now, the mystery has been solved and PlayStation enthusiasts should brace themselves for a potential financial hit, as their savings may not be enough to cover this high-end product. Not only does the PS5 30th Anniversary Collection come with a hefty price tag, but unlike the PS5 Pro which releases on November 7, items from the PS5 30th Anniversary Collection won’t hit the market until November 21.
