As a movie enthusiast who has spent countless hours engrossed in the intricate plots and captivating characters of Agatha Christie’s novels, I am absolutely thrilled about Audible’s adaptation of “The Mysterious Affair at Styles.” The casting is nothing short of brilliant, especially with Peter Dinklage stepping into the iconic role of Hercule Poirot.

It’s been confirmed that Peter Dinklage, best known for his role in Game of Thrones, will portray a powerful detective in an impressive adaptation of Agatha Christie’s first novel. This highly anticipated production is set to premiere worldwide on the 14th of November.
In this production, we have the pleasure of featuring Dinklage alongside Himesh Patel, known for “Yesterday,” Harriet Walter from “Succession,” Rob Delaney of “Catastrophe,” and Jessica Gunning, star of “Baby Reindeer.
Additional actors joining the project are Philip Dunster from Ted Lasso, Jonathon Bradley known for Game of Thrones, Vivian Oprah from Rye Lane, and Patsy Farran who starred in A Streetcar Named Desire.
In this Audible adaption, it’s being unveiled through a fresh agreement with Agatha Christie Limited. The narrative centers around a wounded and emotionally scarred Captain Hastings (played by Patel), who receives an invitation to a sprawling countryside manor to aid his recovery following his service in World War I.
The storyline progresses: “As tranquility morphs into turmoil within the household, what initially appeared to be a peaceful sanctuary transforms into a nightmare when Emily Inglethorp (Walter), the matriarch of the family, mysteriously passes away one evening. Suspicions rise as her loved ones soon discern that her demise was not a natural occurrence.
Given the array of suspects, each with potential reasons for the crime, no one can be entirely trusted. In his eagerness to unravel this enigma and shield the family from relentless press scrutiny, Hastings turns to a single individual he believes holds the key.
In his well-tailored attire and displaying keen intuition, Hastings summons the brilliant detective they were once acquainted with – Hercule Poirot, portrayed by Dinklage.
In a new take, the script for this production is penned by Anna Lea (of “Around the World in 80 Days”) and helmed by Alice Lowe (“Prevenge”). The unique musical composition comes from British actor-musician Johnny Flynn (“The Detectorists”), working alongside cellist and composer Joe Zeitlin.
According to James Prichard, CEO and Chairperson of Agatha Christie Limited, this project is expected to extend the limits of what sound can achieve.
