In the game Rainbow Six Siege X, Ubisoft has temporarily disabled one of its characters, or Operators, due to a glitch that many players have been complaining about. The specific Operator being addressed is Castle, and it seems some players are exploiting one of his abilities to disrupt matches. Since this issue appears to be quite substantial, Ubisoft is taking serious action to rectify the game and ensure fairness for all players. On Twitter, Ubisoft provided an update on Castle’s removal and offered a timeline for when we might expect him back in the game.
In a recent tweet, Ubisoft acknowledged a vulnerability in the game mechanism known as Castle, which can prematurely end a match. They are currently working on a solution. As a precautionary measure, they will temporarily disable the selection of Castle in Ranked, Unranked, and Siege Cup games. Once the fix is implemented, Castle will be reinstated in these game modes.

In simpler terms, the “Rainbow Six Siege X” Castle crash glitch enabled players to leave games without facing any in-game penalties. This also meant that the victorious team missed out on Elo points. The situation was incredibly annoying and led to players unwittingly spending time on unproductive matches. It’s hard to estimate how widespread this exploit was, but many gamers reported encountering it frequently on Reddit and Twitter. Fortunately, with Castle temporarily removed from the game, players can now play without worrying about others using the glitch to sabotage games.
In the interim, although this provisional remedy prevents players purposefully crashing the game, it’s unintentionally causing problems for dedicated “Rainbow Six Siege X” users who rely on Castle as their primary character. As Ubisoft works diligently to implement a long-term solution, they are inadvertently penalizing those playing the game honestly. For now, players must either opt for another character or momentarily suspend their gaming activities. Unfortunately, we don’t have an estimate on how long it will take to resolve this issue permanently, but hopefully Castle will return soon.
In today’s digital age, online gaming has its share of vexing challenges. While it’s common for players to seek ways to gain an edge, deliberately disrupting a game to force the winning team into wasting their time feels particularly unkind. This unfair tactic is now causing trouble for honest gamers too, as they are unable to use their primary characters. It’s just a game, yet it’s unnecessary to ruin other players’ fun when one is about to lose a match.
