Former WWE Superstar Just Became All Elite on AEW Dynamite

As a long-time wrestling fan who has been following AEW since its inception, I must say that tonight’s Dynamite 5th Anniversary show was nothing short of spectacular! The energy and excitement were palpable as we witnessed some intense Championship battles and a few unexpected surprises.

Tonight, AEW marked five years of their flagship show “Dynamite” with an exciting lineup filled with contests for various championship titles. The World Championship was also at stake in a highly anticipated clash between Bryan Danielson and Kazuchika Okada. Surprises were plenty throughout the evening, but one of the most significant came from MVP. Despite being interrupted by Prince Nana who proposed a match, MVP eventually unveiled his news, and it turned out to be the arrival of former WWE star and Hurt Business member Shelton Benjamin, now a part of AEW.

Initially, MVP began to unveil his statement, but was quickly interrupted by Nana, who was quite agitated due to MVP’s jabs aimed at him and Swerve Strickland. Prince Nana retorted, reminding MVP that he too is a wrestler and can hold his own in the ring. However, before Nana could fully issue his challenge, MVP interjected again, stating that Nana wasn’t equipped to deal with such issues.

Later, MVP mentioned he needed to discuss that matter with his business associate and the head of complaints department, at which point the camera switched to show Benjamin. Benjamin inquired, “What were you saying?”, and when Nana remained silent, Benjamin responded, “Good conversation,” and gave him a pat on the back. Worsening the situation, Benjamin sipped his coffee and departed with MVP, leaving Prince Nana feeling quite displeased about how things unfolded, visibly upset as they exited.

What This Means for MVP and AEW

Initially, when The Hurt Business first made an appearance in AEW, many fans eagerly anticipated a potential reunion of this group. Rumors about Bobby Lashley joining AEW have further fueled these expectations. Now that Benjamin has been introduced, a reformation of The Hurt Business appears increasingly likely. With WrestleDream approaching quickly, it could be the perfect moment for Lashley to make his debut, thereby adding three key members to the group as they strive to establish themselves as a powerful faction.

It seems that only one member, Cedric Alexander, might not join the reunion since he’s still working for WWE and involved in a storyline on NXT. If there are no immediate changes, it appears that Cedric will remain with WWE, which means that the complete group won’t be able to gather in AEW, at least not right away.

It’s been hinted that MVP has already joined AEW, and tonight’s episode suggested that Mercedes Mone might also be a part of the faction. There are many other potential members who could strengthen the group, assuming it does exist (which seems likely). To add to the excitement, Benjamin confirmed on X that he is now officially part of the Elite, so anticipation for this upcoming group will only grow.
