Even though the studio has been paying to promote MindsEye, it doesn’t seem to be helping much. Currently, the game only has about 22 players online at any given time, according to Steamdb. This is a significant drop from the 3,302 players it had when it first launched. Player numbers fell quickly, going from an initial peak to 280 within a week, and have continued to decline since then. It’s important to remember these numbers are just for PC players; MindsEye might be performing better on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban marked a turning point for the series. The story became more complex as Harry discovered the man believed responsible for his parents’ death had escaped, and a dangerous plot began to emerge. The film’s tone also shifted dramatically, becoming darker and more mature with the direction of Alfonso Cuarón, who replaced the previous, more family-oriented director and steered the franchise toward an older audience.

The unsettling and visually striking film Midsommar will be leaving HBO Max on January 31st. Released in 2019, this surprise box office success (earning $48 million with a $9 million budget) was directed and written by Ari Aster and stars Florence Pugh (known for her role in Thunderbolts), along with Jack Reynor, William Jackson Harper, and Will Poulter. Set in a remote Swedish community, the film centers around a disturbing midsummer ritual and helped launch Florence Pugh to stardom. It’s a must-see before it’s no longer available on streaming.

Released in 2017, NieR: Automata became the most successful game in the NieR series. However, Square Enix hasn’t expressed any desire to expand on it beyond a remake of the original NieR game and a brief mobile title. While the series continues to thrive through events like concerts, partnerships, and merchandise, many fans feel it deserves more. Now is the perfect time for Square Enix to commit to the series and deliver the sequel that NieR: Automata fans are hoping for.
