As a long-time follower of the Obama family, it’s heartening to see Malia and Sasha embracing their youth and enjoying the music scene just like any other young adults. Their choice in artists such as Charli XCX and Troye Sivan reflects not only their personal tastes but also a familial bond with their father, former President Barack Obama.

On October 16, the daughters of ex-President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, went to see Charli XCX and Troye Sivan’s Sweat Tour at the Kia Forum located in Los Angeles.

For Malia, aged 26, the sister’s outing was accompanied by a stylish ensemble: a gray sleeveless plaid vest and denim skirt, accessorized with tall black boots for the concert. On the other hand, Sasha, who is 23 years old, paired a long-sleeved graphic top and jeans with an eye-catching large black belt.

It appears the sisters’ musical preferences are akin to their father’s, as one sister’s song was included in the former Commander-In-Chief’s popular summer playlist. This year, Charli’s song “365” from her album “Brat” made headlines as part of his annual compilation, and he later emphasized his choice by playing it again.

He recently shared his playlist, which includes ‘365’ and [‘Brat’] is an exceptional album, he asserted on the ‘I’ve Had It’ podcast in September. There are times when people doubt whether he truly listens to all this music, but as previously stated, he does indeed listen to it all.

Despite maintaining his confidence in his choices, he acknowledged that his daughters played a significant role in compiling the list he ultimately selected.

He went on to say, “My daughters keep me informed about daily happenings, as they’re particularly tuned in. Charli XCX, she definitely has a grasp of the situation.

Regarding Malia, this year she decided to go by the name Malia Ann for her latest project, a short film titled “The Heart”. Notably, this was her first time directing, but she also contributed to the writing of Donald Glover’s comedy-horror miniseries called “Swarm”.

He enthusiastically expressed, during his interview with Vanity Fair in March 2022, that he believes she’s someone who will soon experience wonderful things. He appreciates her writing skills and emphasized that we shouldn’t be lenient towards her simply because she’s the former President’s daughter.
