Though originally shown on HBO, Tales From the Crypt won’t be available on HBO Max. Instead, the show is coming to Shudder, a streaming service dedicated to horror, on May 1, 2026. Shudder will be the only place to stream the series. The first season will premiere on Friday, May 1, and new seasons will be added each Friday until all seven seasons are available by June 12. And for horror fans, all episodes will be the original, uncensored versions.

After the Season 2 finale, the official YouTube channel of TOHO Animation released a new non-credit music video, depicting scenes from the final episode. The scenes include the daily lives of the party as they try to get some travel funds for their journey ahead and stumble upon one of the most beautiful scenes ever. The ending features the last episode’s ending theme, Trace by Milet, the same artist who also provided the first opening theme of Season 1, titled Anytime Anywhere, which was another smashing hit. Additionally, Milet also performed the second season’s ending theme, The Story of Us.
These anime are complex and intriguing, offering depth and atmosphere without resorting to simple solutions. They create immersive, believable worlds, ranging from futuristic sci-fi and cyberpunk to explorations of philosophy, dark futures, and unsettling horror. They’re significantly better than most people realize – while they have dedicated fans, they deserve a much wider audience and more appreciation within the anime community.
