Capcom is poised for a huge 2026, with several major game releases planned. The Japanese gaming company will be launching titles like Resident Evil Requiem, the Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, and Pragmata throughout the year.
Plus, there are the live-action movies based on Resident Evil and Street Fighter, and there’s even a chance we’ll finally see a release date for the Onimusha: Way of the Sword adaptation.
Capcom is poised for a great year, but the biggest risk – aside from potential delays – would be releasing poorly optimized PC versions of their games, similar to what happened with Monster Hunter Wilds.
Capcom released a demo of their upcoming game, Pragmata, to give players a preview and also to test and improve the game’s performance.
Naoto Oyama, producer of Pragmata, and director Cho Yonghee recently shared insights with Automaton Media about the game’s demo and what they hoped to achieve with it.
With so many different PC configurations, it’s difficult for developers to customize the game for everyone directly on Steam. That’s why they’re releasing a demo – to get feedback and fine-tune the game, especially its performance and how smoothly it runs, before launching it globally.
According to Oyama, their priority was making the game comfortable to play, even if it meant the graphics weren’t always top-of-the-line.
We’ll have to wait until the game releases on April 24th to see if these improvements make a difference. However, this isn’t the first time Capcom and its teams have talked about wanting to avoid repeating the issues seen with Monster Hunter World.

So, Capcom was talking about their future games recently, and they basically said that Resident Evil Requiem – which is coming out first – won’t have the same performance problems that they’re still fixing in Monster Hunter Wilds. That’s a huge relief! They learned from those Wilds issues and are making sure Requiem runs smoothly from the start.

Capcom quickly responded to concerns that the upcoming Requiem would perform as badly as Wilds, assuring players that wouldn’t be the case.
Capcom explains that Resident Evil Requiem and Monster Hunter Wilds are built differently in terms of how they play, their underlying technology, and online features. Because of these differences, Capcom doesn’t expect the same issues to occur with Requiem. They are working to ensure the game runs well on many different types of PCs.
Overall, it’s an ambitious plan with several good ideas, and it’s clear Capcom listened to the feedback they received.
