As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming experience under my belt, I must say the arrival of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut on Xbox Series X/S and PC via Microsoft Store is an exciting development. Having played the original on PS4 and its subsequent iterations, I am eager to dive back into the post-apocalyptic world created by Kojima Productions, especially with the addition of new exoskeletons, weapons, and stealth-focused content.

View Urgent Forecast505 Games unexpectedly announced that Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is now playable on Xbox Series X/S and can be purchased from the Microsoft Store for PC. Originally developed by Kojima Productions, this action-adventure game was initially released in 2019 exclusively for PS4, later making its way to PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store), macOS, iOS, and iPad OS. The Director’s Cut version, which first appeared on PS5 in 2021, has now also been made available for PC.
In this game, Norman Reedus plays Sam “Porter” Bridges who journeys through a post-apocalyptic America to link up cities with the Chiral Network. The Director’s Edition offers additional features such as new exoskeletons, a fresh weapon, and secretive stealth elements. PC gamers purchasing it from the Microsoft Store can anticipate Ultrawide screen compatibility and smooth gameplay performance.
As a huge fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about our recent review of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut! If you missed it, be sure to check it out. Kojima Productions is hard at work on the sequel, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, which is set to launch in 2025 for PlayStation 5. Keep an eye out for a more specific release date announcement next year – I’ll definitely be keeping up with the latest news! They’re also cooking up something spooky exclusively for Xbox, titled OD, but unfortunately, we don’t have a release date just yet. Stay tuned for updates on that as well!
Let’s come together once again! The Director’s Cut of Kojima Productions 2015’s DEATH STRANDING is now playable on the Xbox Series X|S.
We can’t wait to welcome more Porters to this incredible community.
