Where do we find Bibi in series two?

It appears everyone is moving forward, and Bibi seems to be in a more peaceful state now that JP is no longer around – he was the one responsible for the incident which resulted in Bibi losing an eye. Currently, she’s contemplating growing her family through IVF, and we face the challenges that come with that process.

Does it feel important to be part of a show that explores topics like IVF in such a relatable way?

Indeed, it’s quite uncommon for a television series to have five female leads tackling topics such as menopause, coercive control, and domestic abuse. What makes this show unique is that Sharon masterfully weaves these themes into a comedy thriller drama format. We strive to handle sensitive subjects with care, but at the same time, we wonder where to inject humor and when to tone it down. In our most challenging times, laughter can provide solace. This is likely why the show has gained such popularity – people connect with these stories about women and appreciate their portrayal.

The show explores the different dynamics between the five sisters — do you have siblings?

As a movie enthusiast, I’m fortunate to have one amazing sister who’s more like my best friend. We share an unbreakable bond, and I’d move mountains for her. Fortunately, I get along wonderfully with her partner! If she were involved with someone like JP, it would be quite a challenge. That’s what makes the show so captivating – the intricate family dynamics and sisterhood. The characters are messy, complex, and multidimensional women, which is a breath of fresh air on television.

Do you think you’d be different if you’d grown up with four sisters?

Besides my sister, I also grew up surrounded by many cousins. We formed a group of about ten, mostly girls. During summertime, we all spent our days together in County Kerry. It’s clear to me how families work and the positions we assume within them.

Do you feel like you and the other cast members are sisters now, too?

I’m proudly part of a close-knit family, and we thrive on collaborating together. During the downtime between shoots, Eva’s children and I have formed a strong bond since we share similar ages, making us great friends. We maintain regular contact, exchanging ideas about various topics from home decor to personal relationships.

Do you have much in common with your character?

I would love to be a bit more Bibi – she says it like it is and doesn’t care what people think, whereas I’m a people pleaser. But that’s the joy of playing her. She’s a boss.

Has there been talk of a third series?

I’d work with the girls for the rest of my life, but we don’t know yet. I’d be very keen.
