New Battlefield 6 “Bonus” Battle Pass Is Impossible to Complete Without Spending Money

Battlefield 6 offers a lot of cosmetic items through its Battle Pass, but unlocking them takes a significant amount of playtime. Some players choose to bypass this by buying Battlefield Pro, which boosts XP, lets you skip tiers, and includes an extra set of rewards. However, there’s a problem with this bonus set: it’s designed so that you can’t get everything unless you spend extra money.

A new Bonus Path is currently available for Battle Pass Pro owners, but it’s only available for a short time – about a week. Players have until January 5, 2026, to earn Bonus Path points, which are needed to unlock items within the Path. This is a very limited time for those who have access, and could be frustrating for some.

There Aren’t Enough Chances To Earn Bonus Path Items

The biggest issue with the Bonus Path is how time-consuming it is to finish. Reaching all 10 tiers of the extra content in the BF Pro Pass requires 100 Bonus Path points. While you can earn points in several ways, even combining all sources doesn’t allow you to progress through the Bonus Path very quickly.

The game provides weekly challenges – like getting vehicle takedowns, capturing points, or playing certain game types – that reward players with Bonus Path points. However, even if players complete all available weekly challenges, they’ll currently only earn about 30 Bonus Path points.

The Bonus Path in the game costs 10 points per tier, meaning players can only complete about a third of it. With only 30 points available, it’s tough to unlock all the extra items, particularly since weekly challenges run out before the Bonus Path ends. Because there’s no workaround, players who purchased the premium version of the Battle Pass may not be able to get everything they paid for.

Buying Tier Skips Is Required To Get Everything

Because you earn very few Bonus Path points, it’s nearly impossible to unlock all the rewards without buying tier skips. If the Bonus Path lasted longer, weekly challenges would give you enough points on their own. However, the limited time to complete the Bonus Path essentially forces players to spend money if they want all the exclusive cosmetic items.

The current plan for Battlefield 6 is leaving many players confused and frustrated. A lot of people are noticing that the Bonus Path seems designed to encourage extra spending. In fact, a Reddit post shows some players are so turned off by this system that they’ve decided not to buy any more Battle Passes for the game.

New BF Pro bonus path (10 tiers) expires in 7 days, vast majority of the playerbase won’t be able to complete it without spending BF Coins to skip tiers.

Players could only fully complete the Bonus Path if they hadn’t finished several weekly challenges before the new pass began. Holding onto those challenges until the Bonus Path launched allowed players to earn the necessary points, but it’s unlikely many people planned ahead to do so. Unlike the regular Battle Pass, you can’t gain points through XP in the Bonus Path.

The Bonus Path’s Forced Monetization Might Be The Final Straw For Some Players

The main issue with the Bonus Path isn’t how many BF coins it costs, but the short amount of time players had to complete it. The developers have acknowledged a bug caused players to earn fewer points, potentially due to an extra holiday challenge, but a fix might not arrive quickly enough. Even if the Bonus Path becomes available again later, the frustration caused by this current problem has already damaged player goodwill.

Even dedicated players who unlock everything often find the rewards aren’t very exciting. The cosmetic items in the Bonus Path don’t seem any better than those in the regular Battle Pass, and the regular pass is actually easier to complete, especially with the initial Pro purchase. Because of this, many players probably won’t bother completing much of the Bonus Path beyond the first few levels.

If players don’t feel pressured to buy their way through the Bonus Path in Battlefield 6, the feature is likely to be unsuccessful. The path is so frustrating that it could become unattainable, particularly for players who enjoy unlocking rewards through teamwork and regular gameplay with friends.

So, I’m really curious – is anyone planning on getting the BF Pro Bonus Path Battle Pass for Battlefield 6? I’m trying to decide if it’s worth it, and I’d love to hear what you all think! Let’s chat about it over on the ComicBook Forum – I’ll be there!
