As a long-time wrestling enthusiast who’s seen countless matches, I can confidently say that Mercedes Mone vs Kris Statlander at AEW Full Gear was nothing short of spectacular! It was a true testament to their skill, chemistry, and the passion they have for the sport. The match was so gripping that even I found myself on the edge of my seat, biting my nails off!
Fans of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) were confident that Mercedes Mone and Kris Statlander could produce an exceptional match, but even those with high expectations were likely left astounded by the extraordinary performance they delivered at AEW Full Gear. Although Mone had given some outstanding matches since joining AEW, she hadn’t yet delivered a true classic that would become iconic during her TBS Championship reign. However, this all changed at Full Gear as Statlander and Mone created something truly magical, with many eager for another rematch. In the end, Mone successfully defended her TBS Championship in the best match of her AEW career, making it a significant triumph for her overall.
The conflict between Mone and Statlander didn’t take too much time to escalate, with numerous standout instances on Dynamite and Collision adding fuel to the fire. Among these moments were several that further strained relations between Mone and Kamille. Although this feud may simmer for a bit longer, Statlander eagerly took up the challenge against Mone, surprising her with an ambush and even driving her through a wall at one point using a spear.
In addition to defeating Kamille, Statlander crushed the invincible image surrounding her. This enraged Mone even further. Tonight, all that preparatory work would be put to use during the match, and it was clear how desperately Mone desired this victory – she employed every technique at her disposal, even unleashing a series of Meteoras early on.
Exceptional displays, impressive conclusion, a strong candidate for the best match of the night! Hat’s off to Mercedes Mone and Kris Statlander for their truly classic performance #AEWFullGear

In this wrestling bout, Statlander matched her rival impressively, even showcasing an outstanding instance where she seized Mone mid-Meteora attempt and followed up with a harsh-looking buckle bomb. Throughout the contest, reversals were crucial, as both contenders switched momentum through strategic counters that led to near pins. This included Mone nearly pinning Statlander by utilizing Statlander’s power during a powerbomb and landing a brutal neckbreaker.
In this instance, Mone skillfully avoided a roundhouse kick and ended up behind Statlander, retaliating with a backstabber. Statlander responded by delivering an uppercut and a face boot, followed by a roll that sent Mone tumbling and culminated in a powerful German Suplex, making for quite the impressive sequence.
After nailing the cazadora, Mone showcased a powerful comeback by forcefully pressing Statlander’s neck against the ropes. Subsequently, Mone managed to flip Statlander over, securing both of Statlander’s arms and pinning them to the mat for the decisive three count. Thus, she successfully defended her TBS Championship, marking one of her most impressive victories yet.
