Emmerdale’s Daisy Campbell is now “at peace” with her exit as Amelia

As I reflect upon Daisy Campbell‘s 13-year journey as Amelia Spencer on Emmerdale, I find myself both saddened and filled with admiration for this remarkable actress who has graced our screens for so long.

This holiday season, you’ll see Daisy Campbell bidding farewell from Emmerdale on ITV. After a span of 13 years, her character, Amelia Spencer, will be leaving the soap opera.

The announcement about her leaving was made in October itself. She informed The Mirror that she didn’t choose to depart from the soap opera, but left the door open for her character to potentially come back.

She shared with the publication, “Once they made it clear, everything became crystal clear for me.” She went on to say, “Amelia isn’t a part of the Dingle clan anymore since her father has departed and Samson is gone as well. She doesn’t have any family left, which leaves no place for her to go. I can see why there’s nowhere for Amelia to be taken.

I’m remarkably grateful for having been part of the soap for 13 years, and for being given numerous chances at such an early stage in my career.

As I prepared to shoot my last scenes, I must confess, the impending fortnight filled me with a heavy heart. You see, I’m no fan of shedding tears in public unless it’s part of the script. However, let me tell you, it was an incredibly emotional experience.

During the second week of filming, I spent the first week mourning, and by the second week, I found myself thinking, “It’s time for me to move on now.

Campbell stated: “It’s been an emotional rollercoaster, sometimes draining as the feelings fluctuate between highs and lows. However, I am feeling more serene now.

Recently, it’s become clear that Tom’s real character has been revealed. This revelation came when he was apprehended for trying to sneak onto a ferry and avoid the authorities.

In their hometown, Jimmy (Nick Miles), Nicola (Nicola Wheeler), and their daughter Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) examined a ‘Scum’ graffiti scrawled on their house door. Amelia, it turned out, was the one who had done this vandalism.

Later on, Amelia tidied things up and subsequently had a conversation with Belle. Belle advised her to stay away, and Amelia promised she would, adding an apology for the way she behaved towards Belle.

Amelia’s departure from the Emmerdale village hasn’t been specified just yet, but Campbell hinted to Inside Soap that “Amelia prioritizes herself in her exit, making a decision that is ultimately best for her and Esther.

Before Christmas, the last episodes featuring her storyline will be broadcast, leaving little time left for viewers to watch how it all plays out.
