Behind the scenes at Aardman for RT’s Christmas cover with Wallace and Gromit

As a long-time follower of Wallace & Gromit’s charming antics and heartwarming adventures, I eagerly anticipate their return this Christmas Day with “Vengeance Most Fowl”. Over the years, these claymation characters have become an integral part of my holiday traditions, and their appearance on the RT cover, a year in the making, is a testament to their enduring charm.

On Christmas Day, you can catch me enjoying the latest Wallace & Gromit adventure titled “Vengeance Most Fowl” on BBC One and iPlayer at 6:10 pm. Be sure to add it to your own watchlist!

Prior to the release of their upcoming film “Vengeance Most Fowl” on Christmas Day, Wallace and Gromit are gracing the cover of this year’s RT Christmas issue, a project that took over a year to create.

As a passionate cinephile, I had the pleasure of delving into the intricate process behind the creation of an enchanting Wallace & Gromit Christmas-themed cover. This journey was expertly unveiled by Aardman Animation Director Jay Grace in our exclusive interview. He guided us through each stage, from the initial design phases to the final execution, where our beloved characters were adorned in festive attire and seated comfortably within a sleigh. This magnificent cover is the fruit of a unique collaboration between TopMob and the esteemed Aardman Animation Studio.

Apart from gracing the cover of RT, Wallace & Gromit have also made appearances on the BBC this year. In fact, the broadcaster showcased them in their seasonal identifiers, and you can view these entertaining clips below.

Excitingly, I’ll be lending my voice to Wallace in “Vengeance Most Fowl,” marking the debut of Ben Whitehead as Wallace in a full-length Wallace & Gromit film, following the sad departure of our beloved Peter Sallis.

As a passionate cinephile speaking to RT last month, I expressed my thoughts about embodying such an iconic role: “It’s crucial that I don’t shock the audience with a drastically different voice.

As a die-hard movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the upcoming film will feature the return of the notorious Feathers McGraw. You might recall his brief appearance in “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget,” but it’s been quite some time since he squared off against Wallace and Gromit, back in 1993’s “The Wrong Trousers.

In addition, Peter Kay, Lauren Patel, and Reece Shearsmith provide their voices in the movie, and Diane Morgan, Adjoa Andoh, and Sir Lenny Henry appear for brief appearances.
