Path of Exile 2 Peaks at Over 459,000 Concurrent Steam Players on Early Access Launch

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, let me tell you, the gaming universe is abuzz with excitement as we approach the twilight of 2024! Yesterday, Marvel Rivals had us all mesmerized, and today, I’ve found myself in awe of the staggering success of Path of Exile 2.

2024 is nearly wrapping up, yet there’s no sign of slowing down with significant game launches, and it appears they’re all performing exceptionally well. Yesterday saw a massive influx of players for Marvel Rivals on its debut day, while today we’re witnessing a similar trend for Path of Exile 2, the eagerly anticipated action RPG from Grinding Gear Games, which became available in early access today.

On the very first day of its launch, according to SteamDB, I’ve personally witnessed an astounding influx of players for Path of Exile 2, reaching a whopping 459,263 concurrent players on Steam. This number is more than double the all-time peak of the original Path of Exile, which maxed out at just 229,337 simultaneous players! It’s incredible to see such a massive response!

Just as Grinding Gear Games predicted before its launch, Path of Exile 2 is experiencing heavy server congestion right now, causing many players to queue for extended periods to access the game. The developers are actively working on resolving these issues, and it’s intriguing to observe how player participation levels evolve over the next few days. Given that the weekend is approaching, it wouldn’t be unexpected to see engagement numbers increasing further.

Path of Exile 2 is now accessible in an early stage for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Personal Computers. Check out our review on its early access launch by clicking here.
