This 10-Part Fantasy Book Series Has Been in Development Hell for 10 Years, and It Might Be Unfilmable

Despite being incredibly popular and influential, The Chronicles of Amber hasn’t yet been adapted into a live-action TV series – a surprising omission in the entertainment world. A series was first announced back in 2016 by Skybound Entertainment and Vincent Newman Entertainment, but there was no news for years. Things seemed to change in January 2023 when Stephen Colbert joined as an executive producer. George R.R. Martin, a longtime fan and friend of the author Roger Zelazny, has also been a strong advocate for a TV adaptation. Unfortunately, as of 2026, the project has stalled again, and currently doesn’t have a showrunner, writers, or a network to call home.

19 Years Later, Marvel Officially Makes Spider-Man’s Most Controversial Story So Much Worse

I really dislike the Spider-Man: One More Day storyline. As someone who read Spider-Man comics as a kid in the 90s, I was used to him being married, and his relationship with Mary Jane felt essential to the character. What bothered me most was Marvel changing established history by having Spider-Man make a deal with the devil – specifically, Mephisto – to save Aunt May. The cost? Erasing his marriage. I still struggle to read that story because this dramatic, deal-with-the-devil plot felt completely unlike Spider-Man. And unfortunately, things have only gotten worse since then.
