This growth spurt occurred amidst a broader altcoin market that experienced a significant drop of more than 10% in a single day.

In simpler terms, Fartcoin – a cryptocurrency without practical use – gained attention when the overall crypto market experienced a downturn following the Federal Reserve’s announcement of a quarter-percentage-point interest rate reduction and hints that fewer reductions might occur by 2025 than initially anticipated.

During the time period of 8:20 pm to 9:00 pm UTC on December 18th, Fartcoin’s price stood out in the altcoin market by rising around 21% to $1.02. This surge increased its market capitalization to a staggering $1.02 billion, as suggested by data from CoinMarketCap.

The rally didn’t last long. Hours after surpassing $1 billion, Fartcoin retraced by approximately 16%, now trading at a price of $0.83 with a market cap of $838.4 million.
