Robert De Niro joined by Stranger Things and Black Mirror stars in Zero Day trailer

As a seasoned movie-goer with over three decades of film-watching under my belt, I must say that the trailer for Zero Day has piqued my interest like few others have in recent memory. The allure of a gripping political thriller with a cast as star-studded as this one is simply irresistible.

A spine-tingling, heart-pounding teaser is out now for the forthcoming Netflix suspense series, Zero Day, boasting a truly impressive ensemble of top-tier actors, spearheaded by Robert De Niro.

In the upcoming series set for release in February, Robert De Niro portrays the esteemed ex-US president, George Mullen, tasked with identifying the culprits behind a catastrophic cyber assault.

In my perspective, this film delves into a nationwide turmoil, claiming countless lives, yet our protagonist, Mullen, finds himself entangled in a web of misinformation and the ruthless pursuit of power by tech tycoons, financial elites, and government officials. His relentless quest for truth is not only complicated by external forces but also his own buried secrets, which he must face head-on.

In the preview, De Niro takes the front line, whereas the portrayed U.S. president, Angel Bassett, informs him that an investigative committee will receive expanded authority to uncover the facts – yet, what direction might this journey take us?

You can watch it right here now.

In addition to De Niro and Bassett, the series boasts a stellar cast that includes Lizzy Caplan known for her role in Cloverfield, Jesse Plemons from Black Mirror, Joan Allen famed for Room, Connie Britton recognized in Dear Edward, Matthew Modine of Stranger Things, Dan Stevens previously seen in Abigail, Bill Camp from Presumed Innocent, Gaby Hoffmann known as Eric, and Clark Gregg best recognized for his role in The Avengers.

The show “Zero Day” was developed by Eric Newman and Noah Oppenheim, and in a chat with Netflix TUDUM, Oppenheim discussed some of the themes and issues that the series explores.

According to Oppenheim, the series additionally examines the price that individuals pay when they’re given such immense tasks – not just in terms of themselves, but also how it affects their loved ones.

In the course of discussion about De Niro’s part in the series, Newman commented that as both a performer and producer: “[De Niro] essentially joined us in this endeavor – highly engaged and actively involved, reading all materials at every step, making it a remarkable honor and privilege.

There are very few performers throughout history who possess such a powerful presence, impressive background, and exceptional skill as these ones do.
