You can currently play Muv-Luv Unlimited: The Day After on PC. It was originally only available on Switch as part of the Muv-Luv 20th Odyssey Box, which included it as a bonus along with four other episodes.

The game’s current player numbers are a significant improvement over its initial launch, which had 239,045 concurrent players. This is especially notable because these current numbers are from over ten days after release. Typically, player counts would level off or stop declining around this point, particularly given the number of problems the game had when it first launched – issues that led to a mixed reception.

With the game’s newest update, Pearl Abyss has improved the initial release by including FSR 3 upscaling technology when the game runs at 60 frames per second.

Bethesda’s new role-playing game is quite large and will require a significant amount of storage space. According to PlayStation Game Size, a trusted source for game file sizes, players will need at least 123GB of free space to install it.

A Deluxe Edition will be available for $39.99, £34.99, or €39.99. This edition includes the main game, a Horizon Speed 40-foot bus with three retro designs, and a “Bus Pass” giving you access to three expansions planned for release later in 2026. If you pre-order either the standard or Deluxe Edition, you’ll also receive a Horizon Hydrogen 40-foot Gen2 bus and three modern designs.

The game’s appeal mostly comes from how it looks. The main character, an octopus, is surprisingly expressive, squashing and stretching in funny ways – even simple movements are lively and detailed. The game’s few cutscenes have a similar personality to a typical Pixar short, though they lack the emotional depth or meaningful story you’d usually find in those films. It’s always charming to watch Darwin react to danger, with his eyes widening, or to see him interact with his opponent, thanks to the well-made animations.
